One of the simplest yet complex questions you can ask anyone is “Do you trust me?” It is simple because it should just require a yes or no answer. However, it can be complex because it cannot often be answered with a simple yes or no response. Our ability to trust is often based on our relationship with a person and our past history. Every relationship is built on trust. With trust being the at the center of most relationships, and 21 Flavors of Splendor is all about building, nurturing, and encouraging healthy relationships with others and God; this month’s flavor of the month is trusting God.
As a mom, one of the things I love the most is watching my daughters with my husband, Eric. There is so much love there and so much trust. If you were to ask them, there is no job too big and nothing that their dad cannot fix. Whenever he comes into the house after being gone for a while, each of our girls will run full speed at him and leap so he can catch them. I remember one day after doing this, Eric turned to me and said,” Why do they do that?” I replied,” Because they know you will catch them. Have you ever dropped them?” He then looked at me funny and said,” No. I would never drop them.” Then I replied,”Exactly!” The complete trust our kids have in us is such a beautiful and humbling thing.
Having trust like that in people as we grow up is not easy. As the storms of life happen and people disappoint us, even our parents, we often lose that ability to completely trust. Yet we need to maintain a level of complete trust in our relationship with God.
Our relationship with God in one of our most important relationships we have. Where trust is not only key, but we need to work on growing the level of trust daily. Life happens and things change, yet God remains the same. Trusting God is not always easy, but necessary.
So this month we are going to focus on looking at trust and how to trust God more in different areas of our lives. Are you with me!

and relationship with God in the comments!
