I don’t know about you, but I love being a mom. The amount of love I give and receive from my daughters is amazing. As they get older, it amazes me how much they grow and change in what feels like such a small amount of time. Although time seems to fly by, I try my best to enjoy and embrace every season I am in with my girls because I know that I will never get that time back. They were babies not too long ago and in only a few months, I will have a third grader and two kindergarteners. To say the time has flown by is an understatement. Before I know it we will be discussing prom and what college they should attend.
Being a mother is such a blessing. Even if it was something that we did not already know or feel, the Bible makes it clear.
Our children bring us so much joy and happiness. They bless us in more ways than we can count. Yet as much as I love being a mom and know how much of a blessing it is, the actual parenting part of motherhood is another story.
Parenting is hard. It is way harder than I ever expected it to be. Especially in a world that is so contrary to our beliefs and values. There are many days when I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing and hope my girls do not sense it. I find myself trying to find a balance between what I know is right and taking into consideration what’s happening in the world and influencing them. I know I’m not the only one feeling this pressure.
When trying to find that balance, this is my favorite scripture to hold on to. I strive to daily make sure my ‘balancing act’ is aligned with this scripture. While also holding true to my values and allowing God to be my true guide. Parenting may be hard work, but it is so worth all the effort and energy we put in daily.
So this month we’ll take a closer look at some parenting tips I’ve picked up along the way. A few tips and tricks I’ve learned that may help us all navigate this parenting journey. We will look at different ways we can all get a better handle on this parenting thing and find more ways to live out one of my favorite hashtags, #momlifeisthebestlife.
Are you with me? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this month’s flavor in the comments!
